Saya works as a paralegal at Jones Law, where she assists with family law cases, including divorce, custody, and paternity matters.

Saya Melo is originally from Peru and migrated to the United States at the age of seven. Having always lived on the East Coast, particularly in the D.C. Metropolitan area, she developed a strong interest in government and domestic policy. This interest led her to graduate from the College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Building on her academic foundation, Saya interned with two Senate offices and a Senate committee, where she gained valuable experience in policy research, constituent outreach, and drafting memos on issues such as food security and immigration.

Currently, Saya works as a paralegal at Jones Law, where she assists with family law cases, including divorce, custody, and paternity matters. This role has strengthened her ability to navigate sensitive client situations and manage complex case details with care and efficiency.

Her passion for advocating for others and her experiences in both policy and legal work have inspired her to pursue a career in law. Saya is excited to attend law school in the next few years, where she plans to further develop her skills, deepen her legal knowledge, and continue serving as a strong advocate for others.
