Graham Polando served for more than twelve years as Magistrate of the Saint Joseph Probate Court in South Bend, Indiana, where he primarily heard juvenile delinquency and Child in Need of Services (CHINS) cases. He also carried a regular family law docket, and also heard cases involving estates and guardianships of adults; he also served as special judge in other civil matters.

Before joining the Jones Law Office, Graham Polando served for more than twelve years as Magistrate of the Saint Joseph Probate Court in South Bend, Indiana, where he primarily heard juvenile delinquency and Child in Need of Services (CHINS) cases. He also carried a regular family law docket, and also heard cases involving estates and guardianships of adults; he also served as special judge in other civil matters. While on the bench, he was the Chair of the Indiana Office of Court Services’ Juvenile Advisory Committee. 

Graham is the author of Volumes 14, 15, and 15A of West’s Indiana Practice series on Family Law, and is responsible for updating Robert L. Miller Jr.’s Volumes 12, 13 and 13B of the same series, which cover the law of Evidence. He has also published written work in professional and academic journals.

While a practicing attorney, Graham served as sole or first-chair counsel in twenty jury trials and assisted as second-chair counsel in six additional jury trials. He is also a past chair of the Indiana State Bar Association’s Legal Ethics Committee, and continues to serve as a volunteer with the Indiana Supreme Court’s Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program (JLAP). 

Graham holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, Political Science, and Philosophy from Hillsdale College; a Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law; and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University.  

Outside of the practice of law, Graham is a long-course triathlete, having completed five Ironman triathlons. He recently completed his first Extreme Triathlon, and is training for his second. He lives with his wife Rachel, a veterinarian at Granger’s Morris Animal Hospital, and their three cats.
