Matthew Edelhauser is a paralegal whose main focuses are in personal injury, criminal, and family law.
Mr. Edelhauser has been with the Jones Law Office since March 2023. Prior to working for Jones Law Office, Mr. Edelhauser spent time working with at-risk youth populations including criminal juveniles. His work with those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder included providing 1 on 1 therapy to kids in order to help their development into adulthood. Previous experience with criminal juveniles includes an internship at Epworth Family and Child Services, where he worked with families to coordinate appointments, cases, resources, and mental health treatment plans.
Mr. Edelhauser holds both a Masters and Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Louis University in Criminology and Criminal Justice. In 2019, while completing his bachelors, Mr. Edelhauser devoted time to operating clubs and organizations for the Criminology Department, acting as the organizations first ever President. His work as President helped establish the Criminology Club as an active student organization, drafting the bylaws and constitution himself alongside his fellow board members. He also served as an active member of numerous organizations, such as Anthropology Club, History Club, and SLU community outreach. In 2020, while completing his Masters, Mr. Edelhauser was elected as a Graduate Student Representative for the College of Public Health and Social Justice. His representation and work with the Board of Students culminated in greater connections to other disciplines, increased activities for students, outreach to the city of St. Louis, and increased opportunity for inter-disciplinary research. Mr. Edelhauser’s interest in criminology originated from a desire to help people, and fight for those who feel misrepresented. Mr. Edelhauser achieved numerous awards during his academic career, including being a recipient of the Vice President Scholarship, the Dean’s Scholarship, and graduating from the MACCJ program Cum Laude.
Mr. Edelhauser grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and then moved to South Bend shortly after earning his Master’s degree to be closer to his family. A resident of St. Joseph County, Mr. Edelhauser enjoys spending time outside with his girlfriend and their two cats. Mr. Edelhauser is an avid fan of history, and enjoys reading books on the American Revolution and Southeast Asia in his spare time. Outside of the office, you can find Mr. Edelhauser rooting for his hometown Chicago Bulls or at a local comic shop where he enjoys a wide variety of graphic novels.
